Field Services Device Upgrades – Case Study

CHALLENGES

Our client was working with a domestic Australian bank that needed to upgrade all of their branch terminals across their network. The work needed to be completed out of business hours, during weekends.

This impacted all 1,800 branches and 10,000 devices across Australia, including remote locations. This required a detailed project plan and coordination with the bank’s IT department to ensure the upgrade process would be completed successfully with minimal disruption to the bank’s operations.

SOLUTION

Green Light spent time with the client to qualify the scope of the project and identify any key risks, issues, or key sites that required VIP management. We managed the entire deployment schedule, from ongoing changes to dealing with change requests as they arise. We offered a fixed price per site per region to simplify the invoicing process and to help the client with their budgetary requirements.

The outcome of the project was a successful deployment of Windows 10 across 10,000 devices. Green Light effectively managed the project by coordinating a team of 70 engineers with no personnel issues. The project was delivered seamlessly, on time and on budget, with less than 1% escalations.

Green Light also applied lessons learned throughout the project to continuously improve and assure efficient outcomes in future projects. This project demonstrates Green Light’s expertise in managing large-scale IT infrastructure projects and delivering successful outcomes for their clients.
